DESCRIPTION
This training is primarily based on the experiential model of couples therapy which is primarily based on the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy, but includes aspects of psychodynamic therapy, systems thinking, and mindfulness practices.
This model was born from the desire to translate the concepts of IFS into a relationship setting and use the intimate relationship as a vehicle for growth and healing for the individual and the couple. Learn to successfully work through difficulties in couples therapy. In this training, IFS therapists learn to work with the extreme impulses of protective parts, facilitate interpersonal work, and help couples communicate well and deepen connection.

Nancy is a licensed psychologist in Tallahassee, Florida, where she conducts individual and couples therapy. She is a lead trainer for Intimacy From the Inside Out and has been a co-lead trainer for the IFS Institute. Nancy has participated in over 20 training courses related to IFS or IFIO and has presented papers at the annual IFS conference on various topics, especially IFS and IFIO as applied to sexual issues in treatment.
He has contributed a chapter to Internal Family Systems Therapy: New Dimensions, titled “Treating Pornography Addiction with IFS.” and in Internal Family Systems Therapy: Supervision and Consultation, entitled “Making the Unconscious Conscious in the IFS Consultation for Sexual Abuse, Sexual Offenses, and Sexual Compulsivity.”
